Phở Hà Nội – Freistädter Straße 60, Linz
Phở Hà Nội is a small Vietnamese restaurant on Freistädter Straße in Linz. The place itself is quite compact, but the ambience worked well for me — cozy, unpretentious, and exactly what you’d expect from a neighbourhood spot like this.
I started with the mixed appetizer platter, which was a really nice mix of different bites and something I’d happily recommend. Between the starter and the main course, you definitely leave well fed.
For the main, I ordered the “Sa Ti” duck served in peanut sauce — and that was the highlight of the evening. The duck was crispy and full of flavour, but what really stood out was the sauce. There was plenty of it, and somehow the vegetables in it still stayed crisp and fresh, which is something I don’t often get at other Asian restaurants.
Around 25€ per person for starter and main felt fair given the quality.
Overall: Phở Hà Nội delivered excellent food in a small but fitting setting. The Sa Ti duck with peanut sauce is an absolute must if you go. I’d happily come back.
